Gunmen Kill Six In Ondo, Few Days After Owo Attack

Gunmen shot dead six persons at Sabo Area of Ondo town, Ondo State on Wednesday night, it has emerged.

The incident occurred about 72 hours after some unknown gunmen attacked St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, which 127 were injured and 40 confirmed dead.

The victims of the latest attack which occurred around Sabo and Igba areas of the town on Wednesday, were said to include tea sellers, a commercial driver and roadside traders.

Many souls were lost in the Owo attack; and many were injured beyond recognition, as the State Government is set to give those dead a mass burial.

It was gathered that the gunmen were on motorcycles when they carried out the attack.

Another source said the gunmen also robbed some residents of the area before they left the scene.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident.

Odunlami however, said it was a robbery case; adding that men of the command were already on the trail of the perpetrators.
