Manchester United Release Statement Over Physical Abuse Allegation Against Mason GreenwoodManchester United have released a statement following the emergence of domestic violence and sexual abuse allegations against Mason Greenwood.

The Premier League club this morning said it is aware of “images and allegations circulating on social media” regarding the 20-year-old academy graduate.

A young lady said to be his girlfriend shared graphic detail of injuries said to have been inflicted by the United academy graduate.

Manchester United in a brief statement added that they “did not condone violence of any kind” but would not make further comment “until the facts have been established“.

Nike, who sponsor Greenwood, gave a statement to The Athletic which reads;

We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.

Also, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they are aware of the allegations, confirming in a statement;

Greater Manchester Police is aware of images and videos circulating on social media. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Greenwood made his debut for United in 2019 and has since clocked up 129 appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals.

Ralf Rangnick’s side return to action on Friday evening when they face Middlesbrough in the FA Cup fourth round.
