Judge Penny added;

Therefore, as of today, the conservatorship is hereby terminated.

Judge Penny’s decision to dissolve the much-maligned legal arrangement comes two months after she fired the star’s dad, Jamie Spears.

Jamie was being paid $16,000 a month to manage her finances. He insists that he was acting in her best interests, pointing out that her fortune is now $60 million, yet was significantly less 13 years ago when she had her nervous breakdown.

Reacting to the victory, the singer tweeted;

Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy!!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen.

During Friday’s 30-minute hearing, Britney’s attorney, Mathew Rosengart told Judge Penny that the singer had repeatedly testified and declared in court filings that she ‘wants her life back and she wants this conservatorship to end.’

Friday’s court ruling means that for the first time since 2008, the singer – who turns 40 next month – can make her own decisions on how she wants live her life.

She can live where she wants, buy what she wants, hire and fire whom she wants, perform where and when she wants, and have a baby with her fiancé, Sam Asghari, as she has said she wants.

Dozens of fans in #FreeBritney t-shirts erupted in cheers and whoops, with some in tears as the news spread outside the Stanley Mosk Courthouse on Friday.

Earlier, Britney herself wore a ‘#FreeBritney‘ t-shirt.

Britney told the court in June that the conservatorship had resulted in her being forced to take birth control – and she wanted to have another baby.

The mother of two – Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline – wishes to have a child with Sam Asghari.

In September John Zabel, an accountant who runs Media Finance Structures, took over the control of her estate, following a court ruling. He will unwind the arrangement and transfer the funds to a trust, which she controls.

Now, she decides when and where to perform. The singer told the court in detail how she felt pressured to be on stage, and was frequently reluctant to do so.

Now she can decide when and where – or even if – to sing. She can see who she wants, when she wants. Britney’s visitors were previously restricted: under the terms of the arrangement, anyone deemed potentially harmful could be blocked from seeing her.

Britney can drive her car. She had said that not being allowed to drive alone was one of the toughest things of her conservatorship.

She is now frequently seen driving her white Mercedes around her Los Angeles neighborhood, and has said she loves the freedom of driving.
