Body Of Femi Osibona, Owner Of Collapsed Ikoyi Building Recovered

A body believed to be that of Femi Osibona, owner of the company in charge of the 21 storey building that collapsed in the Ikoyi area of Lagos, has been recovered.

According to TheCable, an official of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed that Osibona was found dead by rescue workers four days after the building collapse incident.

On Monday, the uncompleted building collapsed with a yet-to-be-ascertained number of persons still trapped beneath the rubble.

The main contractor for the project, FourScore Homes, is Femi Osibona, a UK-trained estate developer.

According to Highbrow Living Magazine, the property, consisting of four-bedroom maisonettes, flats, duplex and penthouses, was 65 percent sold out.

The magazine reads;

The 20-floor strictly residential facility is the brain works of Fourscore Homes, evolving from a desire to build an original masterpiece. The concept is to have service flats in the three towers for residents to experience a stress-free lifestyle, complete with a hotel flair with a 360-degree view of Lagos state.

Other planned features of the “luxury in the sky” building include open recreation area with outdoor television, gym, and swimming pool.

The structure was said to be 80 percent completed and was billed to be concluded in 2022.

Combined team of emergency responders have now recovered the body of the owner and has been taken to morgue.

While rescue operation continues, over 30 people have been confirmed dead while nine people evacuated are injured.

One of the survivors said there were about 100 people in the building at the time it caved in.
