Iyabo Ojo Accuses Funke Akindele Of Sponsoring Bad Review Of Toyin Abraham’s New MovieNollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has accused her colleague, Funke Akindele of allegedly paying a movie review platform to discredit a new movie by another actress, Toyin Abraham.

On September 10, Abraham’s much-awaited project featured several movie stars, ‘The Ghost and the Tout Too’ hit the cinemas nationwide.

And as it is the culture of movie reviewers, CinemaPointer, a platform which specialises in reviewing movies, terribly rated Abraham’s new film, comparing it to Akindele’s ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’ that became highest grossing Nollywood movie.

Describing Abraham’s movie as “a haplessly brain-dead story”, the movie review platform alleged that the movie star attempted to copy Akindele’s concept in ‘Omo Ghetto’ sequel.

The anonymous reviewer wrote;

Not recommended for intelligent people. Over the years, we have told you many truths but non greater than this: Intelligent minds were not taken into consideration at all in the writing and in the making of ‘Ghost and The Tout Too’. Thusly, intelligent minds will not enjoy it at all.

Regardless of how flagrantly it copycats off ‘Ómó Ghetto: The Saga’ desperately hoping to shine like it. Unlike that one ‘The Ghost and The Tout Too’ doesn’t understand that movie-making is rooted in brain-work and not in using cinema to do ‘Yahoo’, abusing stardoms to fleece fandoms.

Sadly, in ‘The Ghost and The Tout Too’, celebrity after celebrity only lead to leprotic performance after leprotic performance.

It stressed;

As a haplessly brain-dead story leads to pointless scene after pointless scene, all soaked together in a deluge of sterile dialogue. So much so that trying to find any mirth seeing it would be an exercise in futility.

Trust us, if you are intelligent, you are better off staying back home this weekend to watch ‘Ómó Ghetto: The Saga’ which incidentally opens on Netflix this Friday, 10th of September 2021. If not, brain go pain you tire.

However, the review got on the wrong side of some people especially Iyabo Ojo, slammed the review platform for not being objective.

Iyabo Ojo in the comment section also called out Akindele for allegedly sponsoring the review as the movie platform advertised the release of Akindele’s ‘Ómó Ghetto: The Saga’ on Netflix.

The actress also slammed the platform for its review of Abraham’s movie, saying its alleged attempts to discredit her colleague’s work will not succeed.

She wrote;

How much did Funke pay you to write this rubbish, the day she begins to find ways not to talk bad about her fellow colleagues or try to discredit their hardwork or personality that day she will begin to experience inner peace.

Na social media you go dey form better person. I know you and you know me, we know ourselves wella and you@cinemapointer go back and tell your sender that no matter how many times you try to pull Toyin down of discredit her works, it won’t work.

Toyin’s hardwork and movie Ghost and The Tout Too’ will make box office and your blood gonna dry from hate and jealousy…I said what I said messager of doom.
