Gunmen have killed at least 30 persons and injured several others in a fresh attack in Yelwan Zangam community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to ThePunch, the bandits attacked the community with sophisticated weapons in the early hours of Wednesday.
The attackers reportedly disabled the bridge leading to the community preventing any access to help before launching their assault.
It was also learnt that an entire family was burnt alive in their home.
Those who sustained injuries during the attack have been rushed to Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos, the state capital.
The attack comes barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari pledged support for victims of violent clashes in Plateau State.

On his part, Paramount ruler of Anaguta ethnic nationality in the state, Ujah Johnson Jauro confirmed the attack, saying;
Yes, it’s true. I have been informed that some gunmen attacked my people last night in Naraguta community with many casualties. But we are still investigating to know what really happened.
Meanwhile, Plateau State Police Command, Ubah Ogaba confirmed the incident but promised to release a statement with more details later.
