Obasanjo Turns Up As Media Personality, Stephanie Coker And Husband Bag Chieftaincy Titles In OgunMedia personality, Stephanie Coker-Aderinokun, and her husband, Olumide Aderinokun, have been honoured with chieftaincy titles in Owu kingdom, Ogun state.

The ceremony took place on Saturday, June 5, 2021, in Abeokuta where they were conferred as Akinruyiwa and Yeye Akinruyiwa of Owu Kingdom.

The event had in attendance former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, two-term Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titilayo Oseni Gomez, royal fathers amongst others.

The event kicked off with traditional rites at Palace of Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu Amororo II with Balogun of Owu Kingdom, Chief Obasanjo presenting the staff and certificates to newly installed chiefs.

Guests proceeded to Park Inn by Radisson for the reception where Rt. Hon. Gomez paid tribute to the newly-crowned Akinruyiwa and Yeye Akinruyiwa of Owu Kingdom.

She described them as exemplary leaders who have shown distinctive characters in their respective careers.

Commenting on the development, the television presenter cum entrepreneur noted that such would further enable her to promote the Yoruba heritage.

According to TheCable Lifestyle, Stephanie said;

My Yoruba heritage has been very influential on my journey and this chieftaincy is another testament to this.

My husband David Olumide Aderinokun’s love for the people of Owu and Ogun State in general is one I have come to respect and it is humbling to be so recognised alongside him.

On his part, Aderinokun expressed that Owu kingdom remains a significant place for him, adding that he and his wife would continue to support the people through their foundation.

He stated;

Stephanie and I feel honoured to be given the prestigious titles of the Akinruiyiwa and Yeye Akinruiyiwa of Owu Kingdom. I remain proud of my heritage and people.

Owu kingdom and the entire Ogun State are very special to me and I will continue to serve them through the Olumide & Stephanie Aderinokun Foundation.

Coker and Aderinokun got married in 2017.
They welcomed their first child together, Ariella in 2019 in the United Kingdom.
