Founder of Med Contour cosmetic surgery clinic, Dr Anuoluwapo Adepoju popularly known as Dr Anu has made headlines again over an alleged failed procedure on an unnamed female client in Abuja.
The alleged victim narrated her ordeal to a popular Instagram blog, GistLovers, alleging that she is suffering from fat necrosis due to the procedure.
Fat necrosis is a condition that occurs when a person experiences an injury to an area of fatty tissue, which leads to the death of the healthy fat. This can result in the fat being replaced with the oily contents of fat cells. The term “necrosis” means the cells have died.

It would be recalled that in July 2020, Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos state granted bail to the Lagos-based cosmetic surgeon.
The suspended medical practitioner was arrested on July 1, 2020 and charged to court by Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
In a five-count charge, FCCPC arraigned her over allegations of a botched surgery she conducted that led to the death of a patient, one Mrs Nneka Miriam Barbra Onwuzuligbo.

The agency also accused her of obstructing the investigation by its officers into the case and disregarding several summons sent to her to appear before the agency as well as to present certain documents.
Dr Anu’s Lagos clinic was also shut down but recent development has shown that she now operates in Abuja.

In addition, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) indefinitely suspended Dr Anu from medical practice over the death of Mrs Nneka.
According to FCCPC, the suspension is pending the determination of her case before its disciplinary tribunal.

The alleged victim also shared graphic images of the infected buttocks also claimed that Dr Anu refused to attend to her deteriorating condition.
Reacting to the news, the Instagram blog slammed the alleged victim for ignoring numerous unpleasant ordeals of other victims in the past like a popular Twitter influencer named Omotola ‘Omohtee’ Taiwo.
However, in her defence, the unnamed victim told the blog she is New York-based and was not aware about health complications that surface after Dr Anu’s surgeries.
