American rapper, Cardi B has reacted to the 90-day jail sentence given to Ghanaian actress Akuapem Poloo for posing naked in a photoshoot with her son.
Cardi B met Poloo during her visit to Ghana in 2019 after which the actress began to call the rapper as her “twin sister” when Cardi followed her on Instagram.
Poloo ignited intense controversies in June last year after she shared a photo of herself completely unclad on the occasion of her son’s seventh birthday.

Poloo, however, apologised amid the backlash while explaining that the photo was originally meant to encourage people to appreciate their mothers.
Nevertheless, she was arrested and charged with publication of obscene materials and engaging in domestic violence — a conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity.
Poloo was also charged with engaging in domestic violence — a conduct which detracts or is likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.
On Friday, a court in Ghana ruled that the actress would serve 90 days in jail concurrently. It held that the development was imperative to serve as a deterrent to others in the country.
Reacting to this, the rapper replied a fan who asked her opinion about Poloo’s sentence following the nude photoshoot.
In her tweet, Cardi B said she believes Akuapem Poloo should not have been imprisoned and that a probation or community service would have been a better option.
She also disclosed that she has seen similar photoshoots in the United States.
The rapper tweeted;
I seen a lot of Americans do photoshoots like that. Even tho is not my style I don’t think she was going for sexual more going the natural idea. I think jail is a bit harsh. Maybe social media probation or community service.
