Manchester United will be looking to return to their winning ways in the English Premier League (EPL) when they continue their 2020-2021 campaign at home to Southampton on Tuesday night.

United (Red devils) have won only a single match in their last four matches in the EPL, losing 2-1 to the division’s bottom side team, Sheffield United in their last home game.

Meanwhile, Southampton (The Saints) have suffered three straight losses in England’s topflight to drop down to 11th position in the table.

The Saints lost to Aston Villa on Saturday with Ross Barkley scoring the only goal shortly before the interval, they have not won in the league since their victory against Liverpool at the start of January.

United entered the new year as table leaders but have dropped to second place after gaining five points out of a possible twelve in their last four outings.

However, Leicester City’s surprise 3-1 home defeat to Leeds United on Sunday means that United will enter Tuesday’s match in second position in the table despite dropping points against Arsenal last weekend.

In the reverse fixture at Southampton’s home, St Mary, United came back from a deficit of two goals to win 3-2 at the end of November.

The Saints have not beaten the Red devils in the EPL since January 2016, but they did pick up a point on their last visit to Old Trafford.
