You Can’t Do Better Than Your Predecessors, Boko Haram Leader Shekau Tells New Service ChiefsLeader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has released a new audio in which he said the newly appointed Security Chiefs cannot do better than their predecessors did in the fight against insurgency.

He said this in a nine minutes, 56 seconds-long video, according to HumAngle, adding that he heard about the retirement of the previous service chiefs and their replacement with new ones but that his message was to call them to Islam.

MDB on Tuesday reported that President Muhammadu Buhari appointed four new service chiefs after much pressure from Nigerians to bring in fresh hands to help fight against anti-terrorism war especially against Boko Haram in the North-East.

The new service chiefs are Major-General Leo Irabor as Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru as Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo as Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao as Chief of Air Staff.

The failure of the immediate-past service chiefs to conquer the insurgents had ignited the clamour for their removal.

In the new audio, Shekau mentioned the names and the roles of the new service chiefs and called them to repent because they can’t do anything to destroy his terror gang.

He expressed;

Leo Irabor, the head of the military, you should have sympathy for yourself, repent and convert to Islam. There is nothing you can do.

He said Maj-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, who is the new Chief of Army Staff, should not ”deceive” himself because he has a Muslim background.

Shekau expressed;

Even if you are Muslim but you conduct polytheistic practices, you are no longer a Muslim.

A source familiar with the activities of Boko Haram told HumAngle that members of the group are likely to conduct major operations to send a message to the new service chiefs that they are ready to fight.
