#SilhouetteChallenge: Pastor Adeboye Warns Against Online NudityGeneral Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has taken to his verified Twitter account to warn Christians against viewing nude photos and videos, saying it will quench the Spirit.

His warning comes on the heels of a trend on social media, #SilhouetteChallenge, which is currently the rave of the moment.

Using lighting, filters, bathroom doorframes, and editing apps to appear backlit, social media users shows off every curve of their bodies especially ladies.

The challenge uses a remix of Paul Anka’s classic “Put Your Head on My Shoulder” with Doja Cat’s “Streets”.

While dressed down and dancing to ‘Put Your Head On My Shoulder’, ladies can be seen in front of doorways, then stripping and dancing seductively with their naked or semi-naked body curves showing under dimly lit red light as soon as Doja Cats’ song comes on.

However, the physique of their naked bodies is only portrayed as silhouettes because of the red light.

The challenge has sparked online controversy as some alleged that the red light can be bypassed with Artificial Intelligence, in order to see the actual person dancing.

However, others have simply thrown caution to the wind and embraced it as the latest social media rave to jump on.

In an apparent reaction to the ongoing challenge that appears not to have an end in sight, Pastor Adeboye warned against viewing nude pictures and videos online.

He tweeted;

What are the things that the flesh usually tells you to do? They are listed in Galatians 5:19-21 as you must have earlier read in today’s Bible text. You think that you can view a few pictures or videos on social media where someone is almost nude and it is okay.

He expressed that view such sexual content would quench the Spirit of a man and that the little room give to indulge in the flesh will strengthen it, making a man to keep desiring lustful images and videos.

The clergyman added;

The Bible is very clear – don’t ever do anything that will quench the Spirit. Never!

He then listed out somethings that are not sin in themselves but but can strengthen the flesh to the point of eventually quenching the Spirit.

Pastor Adeboye added that if a Christian takes a break from such spiritual exercises, such person will eventually fulfil the works of the flesh.

Citing himself and the biblical character, Joseph as an example, the pastor appealed to Christians to flee from sin in order to fulfil God’s plan.

He further implored Christians to walk in the Spirit every day in order to attain God’s plan for their lives.

Pastor Adeboye advised that Christians should list things that quench the Spirit of God in them and cut themselves off from them.
