Alleged Molestation: Court Grants Bail To Deeper Life High School Principal, Six OthersMagistrate’s Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State capital has granted the Principal of Deeper Life High School and six others bail in the sum of N500,000 each.

The school’s principal, Mrs. Ndidi Solomon, one Joseph Nseabasi, Akpan Johnson, Egor Wilson, Joseph Ikenna as well as two minors were arraigned on Thursday in connection with the alleged sexual abuse and molestation of Don Davis, an 11-year-old student of the school.

The Two SS1 students of the school, both of them 13 years old, were also arraigned in the same court.

The school officials were accused of conspiring to commit felony through “indecent treatment of boys under fourteen and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 556 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38 Vol. 2 Laws of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria 2000”.

While, the two students, according to the charges against them, were accused of committing “an act of gross indecency” by inserting their finger into the anus of the alleged victim.

Their action is said to be an offence punishable under Section 218(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38 Vol. 2 Laws of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria 2000.

When the case was read, the accused all pleaded not guilty and their counsel applied for bail for them, noting that the alleged offense is bailable.

The Magistrate in charge of the Court then granted all the accused person bail in the sum of N500,000 each while the two minors among them were released to their parents.

The presiding Magistrate warned all parties involved in the case to avoid unguarded media comments that could negatively affect the court process.

The case was then adjourned to January 20, 2021 for an accelerated hearing.
