NCDC Confirms 56 New Cases - Lowest Toll Since October 24Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 56 new coronavirus cases on Monday, November 23.

The new infection figures makes it the lowest toll since October 24 – 48 COVID-19 cases were recorded then.

The health agency made the announcement via its official Twitter page @NCDCgov, with the breakdown of the new cases as follows; Kaduna-18, FCT-17, Lagos-6, Plateau-5, Kano-3, Kwara-2, Yobe-2, Ekiti-1, Niger-1 and Rivers-1.

On Sunday, Nigeria recorded 66,383 coronavirus cases, 62,076 successfully treated patients and 1,167 deaths.

With the new toll, there are now 66,439 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 62,241 patients who have recovered from the virus and 1,168 deaths.

Meanwhile, Boss Mustapha, chairman of the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19, has advised Nigerians to suspend travel during festive season to limit the risk of contracting and spending coronavirus.

Speaking at PTF media briefing on Monday, Mustapha said such trips should be put on hold because the transmission rate of the virus has become “astronomical”.

He expressed that new cases can emerge in places that have not been by affected if people travel and gather for festivities.
