Ondo Court sentences church Founder, Prophet Alfa, five others to life imprisonment over missing boyOndo High Court in Akure has sentenced the founder of a popular church in the state, Prophet Babatunde Alfa and five others to life imprisonment over the disappearance of a one-year-old boy, Gold Kolawole in the church last year.

Prophet Alfa of Sotitobire Praising Chapel was found guilty on a two-count charge of conspiracy as well as aiding and abetting kidnapping.

According to the presiding Judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola, the Prosecution Counsel proved beyond reasonable doubt as regards the evidence brought before the court.

However, the 7th defendant was discharged and acquitted after the prosecution counsel could not prove any case against him.

Justice Odusola also accused the police of complicity in the mysterious disappearance of the one-year-old boy from the church’s children’s department during a Sunday service on November 10, 2019.

The parents of the missing child had accused the Prophet of being involved in the disappearance of the boy who has not been seen till date.

According to reports, the boy who was at the children’s department could not be found after Sunday’s service when his mother, Mrs. Modupe Kolawole went to pick him.

Mrs. Kolawole, a member of the Church, said that she suspected foul play over the incident when some of the members of the church told her that they last saw her son in the vehicle of Prophet Alfa.

The Prophet and the other defendants had since been on trial for months until the Judge sentenced them today.
