Fans of Ngozi ‘Erica’ Nlewedim, a former housemate at the ongoing Big Brother Nigeria reality TV show, have launched a $100,000 GoFundMe campaign for her following her disqualification.

Erica, who was one of the most talked-about housemates, was disqualified from the Lockdown edition of the show on Sunday, September 6 for gross misconduct.

Shortly after her disqualification, Erica’s fans — known as ‘Elites’ — launched a fundraising campaign on popular donation platform, GoFundMe, towards helping her achieve “her hopes and aspirations.”

The post on the GoFundMe platform reads;

For Erica Nlewedim, the star of BBNaija season 5, Lockdown edition whose journey on the show came to an emotional end – To realize some of her hopes and aspirations.

The fundraising campaign, organised by Ehizode Irefo, has since garnered positive responses from fans of the former housemate.

As at the time of filing this report, over 175 donors have contributed $14,868 out of the targeted $100,000.

Prior to her disqualification from the show, she had a fight with Laycon, one of the housemates who was once friends with shortly after BBNaija Saturday night party.

During the outburst in her drunken state, she verbally assaulted Laycon with various derogatory words including threatening to kill him outside the house.

Following the incident, Biggie gathered all housemates in the lounge, played the video of the fight from Saturday night, highlighting all the rules she broke due to her tantrums.

He found her guilty of verbally assaulting Laycon, stressing that her words graduated from mere insults to complete disrespect to her housemate and the whole Big Brother Nigeria process.

In addition, Big Brother queried her for pouring water on the bed and denying Prince access to the head of house lounge, which occurred during the fight with Laycon.

Erica, who already had two strikes for previous offences, was also queried for peeping through the camera window and trying to engage with the production team, which is against the house rules.

Biggie called her out as well for not listening to her other housemates, Kiddwaya and TrikyTee who tried calming her down.

Erica was then found guilty of all the offences, which earned her a third and final strike, and she got automatically disqualified from the show.

Lucy, a former housemate, was also evicted from the reality show after she got the lowest votes from viewers.

The remaining nine housemates will continue the chase for the N85 million grand prize — with barely three weeks to the finale.
