Police Rescue Day-Old Baby Abandoned In Anambra (photos)
Officers of Anambra state police command have rescued a oneday-old baby that was abandoned in the state on Thursday, August 13.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Haruna Mohammed, who disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday.

He revealed that in the early hours of the day, one Ginika Okoromike of Ozalla village Isuofia and a staff attached to Ozalla-Isuofia community health center visited the Aguata police station to report a case.

Okoromike informed officers that a one-day-old baby girl was wrapped up in a cloth and abandoned at the corridor of her house by an unknown person.

 

Mohammed said the police immediately visited the scene and rescued the baby, adding that all efforts made to trace the mother of the baby has proved abortive.

The police spokesperson stated that the baby is in good health condition and will be handed over to the Social Welfare for proper care.

He expressed that effort to trace the parents in order to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident will continue.
