Breaking: NCDC Confirms 329 New Cases, 1689 Recoveries

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 329 new cases and 1,689 recoveries on Friday, August 14.

According to NCDC’s latest data posted on Twitter, there are now;

It would be recalled that on Thursday, Nigeria’s total COVID-19 toll surpassed 68,000 recording 48,116 total cases, 34,309 recoveries and 966 causalities nationwide.

However, with the new toll, there are now 48,445 total cases, 35,998 recoveries and 973 deaths across the country.

Also, an August 13 situation report of NCDC stated that total samples tested nationwide have increased from 341,421 to 344,397.

Meanwhile, Ogun state Government has ordered the reopening of worship centres in the state on Friday, August 14.

Governor Dapo Abiodun made this announcement on Friday, in a statement while giving an update on the efforts of the government in combating the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

He also lifted the weekend lockdown in the state, saying the decision was taken due to the opening of worship centres for activities.

The governor explained that he took the decision after thorough deliberation, consideration and resolution with stakeholders.
