261 Stranded Nigerians Return From China

Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has announced the arrival of 261 Nigerians stranded in China.

The Comission announcing it on its official Twitter page on Wednesday, August 26 stated;

261 Stranded Nigerians in China returned yesterday 25th August 2020 from Guangzhou, China via Air Peace flight. All evacuees are now on a 14-day SELF ISOLATION as mandated by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.

Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Wuhan, China in December, thousands of Nigerians have been evacuated back home from across the world.

The evacuations became necessary after the pandemic forced commercial airlines to stop operation as countries restricted inter-border travel.

Over 10,000 Nigerians have been evacuated back home from UK, Sudan, UAE, US, Egypt, Lebanon and other countries since May 2020 under the emergency flight arrangements.
