Fire outbreak has occurred at the rooftop of one of World Trade Centre (WTC) towers located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

According to Punch, the fire started from the top of the skyscraper located in the Central Business District (CBD) of FCT.

The cause of the fire was yet to be known as well as the extent of damage.

In a tweet, the Federal Fire Service said some of its officials are already at the scene of the incident, working to put out the fire.

This comes three years after a fire outbreak occurred at an uncompleted multiple storey building close to the centre.

Since it began in 1939 in New York, United States, the World Trade Centre (WTC) brand has since become global trade hubs in more than 90 countries including Nigeria.

The World Trade Centre in Abuja is a complex of eight buildings, two of which opened in 2016 while the others are at various stages of development.
