Viral video of the visitation of Manchester United footballer, Adilson Angel Gomes to Prophet TB Joshua’s Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media.

The video which was shot in 2017 resurfaced on the social media on Monday, June 15, as many Twitter users expressed shock over the visit of the player to the Nigeria-based church for a deliverance session.

Gomes in the video stated that he had been struggling with groin, hip and ankle injuries which had affected his playing career.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who was 16 years old at the time visited the Synagogue to receive healing for the injuries he had long been battling.

Speaking after the deliverance session, the player said;

These injuries were coming at a hard time for me, a time of breakthrough or times I had to go for a tournament. I have known about the SCOAN for a long time as my family follows Prophet TB Joshua. My parents are big fans and we always watch your videos. We thought it would be a good time and a good chance to come and be touched by the prophet.

Narrating his deliverance experience, Gomes expressed;

I just felt something inside me like a shock. I was surprised. I can’t really describe it. Do not doubt what you are feeling inside. Go with your heart and have faith. When you need someone to look up to, look up to God, just have faith and be proud.
