Breaking: NCDC Confirms 315 New COVID-19 Cases, 128 In Lagos

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 315 new cases of coronavirus and 81 recoveries on Monday night.

According to the centre’s latest data posted on Twitter, the new toll were confirmed over the last 24 hours.

NCDC’s tweet reads;

On Sunday, the country’s total coronavirus was 12,486 with 3959 discharged patients and 354 causalities.

With the new toll, there are now 12801 total cases, 4040 recoveries and 361 death cases across the country.

Also, according to NCDC’s situation report, total samples tested nationwide have increased from 76,802 to 78,244 as at June 7th.

Meanwhile, Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, has disclosed that about 60 per cent of the 979 deaths reported in Kano State may have been caused by coronavirus.

Ehanire made this known on Monday at the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 which held in Abuja.

He explained that the figures were the outcome of an investigation carried out by the Federal Government to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of hundreds of Kano residents.

Ehanire urged resident of the state to continue to wear face masks at all times in the public as well as observing social distancing in order to ensure safety against the disease.
