Alleged Rape: I Was Intimidated By Dbanj To Retract My Statement – Seyitan’s Official Statement

who accused singer Dbanj of rape has finally released a public statement through her lawyers, affirming that the singer and his team intimidated her to retract her statement.

There have been a number of speculations and unconfirmed reports surrounding the alleged rape incident.

Seyitan in her statement has now detailed the actual happenings starting from June 3rd when she called him out on social media for allegedly raping her.

According to the lady, she went to the police station on June 6th to make a formal report but she was left unattended to.

In the statement, Seyitan also confirmed that she was indeed arrested by the Police on June 16th in a ‘suspicious’ manner, a day after Dbanj demanded N100 million as compensation from her for falsely accusing him.

She stated that she detained for almost 48 hours without getting access to her lawyers and family.

According to Seyitan, she spoke up not for financial gains but because she was allegedly violated by the singer and the incident has left her traumatized.

She reiterated that she was indeed raped by the singer at her hotel room in 2018 and will not recant that statement.

It would be recalled that MDB few days ago reported that Seyitan was arrested by the Police and made to sign an undertaken not to speak out over the issue any longer.

Seyitan also confirmed this in her statement, saying;

I was released from custody after being made to sign a gag order by the Police and Dbanj team, and could only post on social media what has been approved by Dbanj’s team. I spent the night in a location of Dbanj’s team choosing, which was not made known to the public.

She further disclosed that the Lagos State Attorney-General has instructed the Commissioner of Police in Lagos to investigate the case.

Seyitan noted that due to the traumatic experience she recently went through in relation to recounting her alleged rape ordeal multiple times, arrested, intimidated and being in custody, she would be taking some time off to continue her counseling and therapy session.

She stated that her lawyers and Stand To End Rape (STER) initiative will continue to work towards getting justice on her behalf.
