‘Mysterious Deaths’ Recorded In Kano Caused By Coronavirus, Presidential Task Force Committee Says

Dr Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, leader of the Presidential Task Force Committee on COVID-19, has said that the virus is the cause of the mysterious deaths recently recorded in Kano State.

The state in recent weeks has recorded an unusual increase in deaths since it recorded its first coronavirus case in April.

Despite the uncanny coincidence, the state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje decried speculations that the deaths were linked to Coronavirus.

However, in a sudden turn of events, Gwarzo has now declared that tests carried out establishes that COVID-19 is the cause of the deaths and not malaria or typhoid as earlier suggested.

Gwarzo, who also lost his father during the ‘mysterious death’ phase, told reporters that investigation shows that COVID-19 is responsible for some of the deaths.

He stated;

Let me inform us that most of the deaths recorded of recent and test carried out showed that Coronavirus was the cause.

So, before the final report which would be ready in the next one week or few days, it is necessary for people of Kano to wake up from their slumber that this is a serious issue.

The task force leader noted that;

It is not a new thing, countries like America, China, Italy, Spain, England, France and others experienced similar mysterious deaths.

The discovery by the Presidential Task Force Committee on COVID-19 comes after President Buhari had during the week given a matching order to the team to unravel the cause of the mysterious deaths in Kano and to also contain the spread of the virus in the state.
