Just In: NCDC Confirms 553 New Coronavirus Cases, 378 In Lagos

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 553 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total infections toll to 9,855.

The health agency in a tweet via its official handle confirmed the new figures on Saturday night.

It stated that;

According to the breakdown by states, Lagos State, which is the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria, has now recorded its highest single day toll of 378 new cases. 

As at May 29th, Nigeria recorded 9,302 total cases, 2,697 discharged and 261 deaths

With the new toll, there are now 9,855 total infections, 2,856 recoveries and 273 casualties nationwide.

Also, according to NCDC’s situation report, total samples tested nationwide have increased from 58,736 to 60,825 as at May 29th.

Meanwhile, the NCDC has activated the 29th molecular laboratory coronavirus centre in the country.

The centre is located at Bauchi State Reference Molecular Laboratory.

It also stated that two other centers in Kwara and Gombe are in progress.
