Sacked Kano Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Muazu Magaji, who celebrated the death of Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, has tested positive for coronavirus.

Magaji upon hearing of the demise of Kyari celebrated by making some unfiltered comments like ‘Nigeria is now free’. The commissioner had also claimed Kyari had so much power that he decided the fate of Nigerians.

He was later sacked on April 18 by Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje for his utterances.

However, on Thursday, Magaji revealed that his test result for coronavirus came back positive.

The former commissioner in a series of Facebook post said;

Dear all, I do truly apologize to you not getting across to me on phone or messages. I have been indispose due to ongoing health challenges some of us going through in Kano. In Sha Allah it will be well.

This morning my NCDC test is out. I have been confirmed COVID-19 positive and have been moved to one of the state facilities… pray for us.
