Breaking: NCDC Records 176 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Infections Now 5621

176 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Nigeria, bringing the total infections in the country to 5,621, it emerged on Saturday night.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced the new cases in an official tweet, which reads;

Though, there is currently no known cure for coronavirus, the number of successfully managed cases in the country has risen from 1320 recorded on Friday to 1472.

Total number of fatalities have also increased from 171 to 176 after recording 5 new deaths.

Also, NCDC announced in its COVID-19 situation that total samples tested nationwide have increased from 31,702 to 32,942 as at May 15th.

Meanwhile, Nigeria chapter of the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) has warned that measures such as isolation and physical distancing may worsen drug abuse amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement, the President of ISSUP Nigeria, Dr Martin Agwogie, said with over 14 million people using different psychoactive substances in the country, concerted efforts are required to reverse the problem.

The society urged the Federal Government to initiate measures to prevent a possible spike in drug abuse during the pandemic.

    Although Nigerians understand that There is covid-19 in Nigeria but federal government and NCDC should stop creates fear in the mind of Nigerians. We as a Nigerians have believe in all total corona cases has been recorded by NCDC so far.it seems federal government and its agency called NCDC have turned covid-19 to a serious business. Plew stop creating panic in the mind of people dont kill us before death comes.
