It would be recalled that Nigeria’s total coronavirus toll was 8,733 with 2,501 discharged patients and 254 causalities, as at Wednesday, May 27th.

But with the new toll, there are now 8,915 total cases, 2,592 recoveries and 259 deaths across the country.

Also, total samples tested nationwide have increased from 48,544 to 49,966 as at May 27th, according to NCDC’s situation report.

In other news, the Presidential Task Force (PTF) COVID-19 has decried the complacent behavior of many Nigerians who continue to disregard existing COVID-19 safety rules.

While addressing reporters in Abuja on Thursday, the PTF Chairman, Boss Mustapha, warned citizens against seeing the coronavirus as harmless, regardless of the government lifting some restrictions.

According to him, some bans are being lifted to strike a balance between life of citizens and the economy.

The PTF Chairman urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, stressing that defeating the virus takes a conscious collective effort from both citizens and the government.
