The Chadian Army has dealt a major blow on Boko Haram terrorists in its ongoing Operation Boma’s Wrath, led by the country’s President, Idriss Deby.

Deby had ordered the operation following an attack on a military base in a Boma on March 23 that killed 98 Chadian soldiers.

According to Sahara Reporters, the battle at Kelkoua, bank of the Lake Chad on Saturday, April 4th saw the killing of many Boko Haram terrorists while bunkers hiding key commanders were discovered and destroyed.

Chad, with the help of the Israeli Army, mapped out the entire Lake Chad region containing both natural and artificial islands for the operation.

Nigerian soldiers in the sect’s captivity were also freed by the troop, West Africa Reporters on Sunday stated.

Chad destroyed five bases of the Boko Haram terrorists group, killed several insurgents and recovered hundreds of weapons.

Report from Chad’s presidency revealed that the bases in Niger and Nigeria were destroyed as part of Operation Boma’s Wrath, adding that operations against the terror group would continue without pause.

Some Nigerians on Twitter have reacted to the victory by the Chadian troops, comparing their effort to the fight against the terrorist group in Nigeria.
