Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on media and publicity has said President Muhammadu Buhari will deliver a nationwide address at 8pm on Monday.

He made this known in a statement released on Monday afternoon.

Adesina also stated that;

Television, radio and other electronic media stations are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.

Tolu Ogunlesi, the Special Adviser to President Buhari on Digital and New Media also confirmed this in a tweet saying;

This comes 14 days after the President had extended the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by two weeks.

According to the President, he extended the lockdown by another two weeks due to his concern about the increase in the number of confirmed cases and deaths despite the initial 14-days lockdown in those states.

The extension announced on April 13 by the President ends today. Hence, Nigerians are expectant as they await the address which will determine whether the lockdown will continue or be lifted.
