Muslim scholar, best selling author, and social commentator Mohammad Tawhidi who tweets with the handle @imamofpeace on Friday took to Twitter to spew vitriol at President Muhammadu Buhari, calling him an enabler of terrorism in Nigeria.

In a set of tweets and replies to Nigerians on Twitter on March 27, the Imam, known for his sometimes controversial tweets, berated the President for his poor response to the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

In his first set of tweets, Imam of Peace stated that;

His tweets made the hashtag #PresidentCovik  trend in Nigeria on the micro-blogging social networking platform, and the  keyword ‘Imam’ a world wide trend.  Nigerians as expected reacted to the tweets, and this birthed even more responses from the 37 year old, who seems to have dedicated today to Nigeria and its leadership.

He described Nigeria as a beautiful country, populated by lovely people, but that “it would be more beautiful without the terrorism enabled by Dictator Buhari.”

In his words, Imam of Peace stated that;

Muhammadu Buhari is the Joe Biden of Nigeria: 1- People don’t know where he is. 2- He doesn’t know where he is. 3- He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. 4- His fingerprints are on dirty files with no one brave enough to investigate him. 5- A national embarrassment.

His comments about President Buhari led to an exchange of words between him and a staunch  APC supporter, Adamu Garba

In his response to the comments of Imam of Peace, Garba said;

Also responding to Imam of Peace on Twitter is Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant on new media to President Buhari.

He tweeted that;

For those who are asking me to respond to @imamofpeace tweets, the guy lacks courage, he is no different from the usual coward, he has blocked me, so I won’t be able to see the nonsense he has been tweeting, those of you following him, kindly remind him of who he is, the COWARD

Imam of Peace replying said;

But the controversial Cleric didn’t stop there. He continued:

He also berated Channels Television for wanting to do a pre-recorded interview instead of live. He wrote:

As at Press time, ‘Imam of Peace’ continues to tweet about Nigeria’s leadership, not caring a farthing whose Ox is gored, even as he takes on critics, replying them one after the other on the social networking platform.
