Leah Sharibu is among the 110 Dapchi schoolgirls kidnapped from Yobe State by Boko Haram on February 19, 2018.

One of the midwives who was among the 5 aid workers kidnapped on December 22, Miss Jennifer Ukambong, after her release last week has said Leah Sharibu is alive.

The 22 years old aid worker from Plateau State said this after herself and other workers were released on Thursday.

While recounting her experience while being held hostage in Boko Haram captivity, She revealed that Leah Sharibu lives somewhere close to Lake Chad.

Leah was the only Christian among the 110 Dapchi schoolgirls kidnapped from Yobe State by Boko Haram on February 19, 2018.

Ukambong while narrating her ordeal said;

They ( Boko Haram)  told us it was against the Qur’an to forcefully touch a woman not legally married to you. They, however, tried to prepare our minds to expect such should they decide to keep us as slaves. According to them, the Qur’an gives them the right to such privileges when they take a hostage as slave.

Ukambong also noted that Mrs Alice Ngaddah, Miss Grace Taku and Leah Sharibu who were abducted at various times by the terrorists were all “doing fine in the forest.”

The aid worker who said she went to Alice’s house twice in the forest insisted that both she and Leah were not dead.

According to Ukambong, Alice told them that Leah Sharibu looks better and fatter than when she was abducted.

She also disclosed that Alice’s name had been changed to Halima by the terrorists.

When further probed, the midwife-nurse stated that she was told Sharibu has a house in the forest which is close to Lake Chad but she doesn’t know the exact location.

The aid worker said Alice told them to pray for her and the other two because they have no one left but God.
