The manager of reggae music icon, Majek Fashek, Umenka Uzoma during a radio interview has revealed that popular hip-hop singer, Olamide was the only Nigerian artist who donated during the health issues of the iconic singer.

Uzoma who said while being interviewed about the failing state of the music icon’s health, stated further that Olamide even pleaded to be anonymous about his donation.

According to him, the hip-hop singer reached out to him as soon the news broke about the singer’s failing health.

In his words, he said;

He called me up in England and he said, Bros, sorry oh, I wan support Baba, don’t discuss this with anybody and he said I must not mention this. He is the only person that supported.

He, however, said though other celebrities reached out, he pleaded with them to hold because according to him, they were being careful about the sources of those donations towards Majek’s speedy recovery.

He stated that;

I told them to calm down and wait for Majek to come back. I decided to stop some of them because when money comes in, so many controversies arise, people, you don’t know from any corner start raising some dirty voices.

When asked about the present state of Majek Fashek’s health, Umenka said it is now a private matter as he wouldn’t want to disclose those details.

In 2019, the manager of Majek Fashek, Umenka Uzoma had announced that the singer who was at the time admitted at a medical facility in London was seriously ill and they requested for donations from Nigerians.

Fortunately, billionaire business mogul, Femi Otedola reportedly took over the hospital bills of Majek Fashek.
