D’tigress Beat Greece To Reach First Ever Women’s World Cup Quarterfinal

The Nigerian female basket ball team have qualified for the quarter finals of the 18th edition of FIBA’s premier international tournament for women’s national basketball teams, being held in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

This is the first time in history that the D’tigress will achieve this feat. They defeated Greece by 57 points to 56, in a nail biting, tension packed match, that hit the climax especially in the 4th quarter.

Nigeria dominated the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter, but the Greeks were simply outstanding in the 4th, through their star player Fasoula who scored 18 points in total, who almost stole the game.

Nigeria will play the USA in the quarter finals.
