The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, in the early hours of today May 11th, stormed a popular Night club in Ikoyi, Club 57 along Awolowo Way and arrested over 12 suspected yahoo boys during the raid.

The EFCC operatives had stormed the club upon receiving intelligent reports that some suspected yahoo boys are in the club spending frivolously.

While some of the suspects abandoned their exotic cars to avoid arrest, some others put up resistance, thereby turning the environ into a war-like zone of sorts.

However, a total 10 cars were recovered from the suspects during the raid that lasted about three hours. The suspects will soon be charged to court when investigations are concluded.

Remember we brought you a report in April on some suspected yahoo boys that were arrested by EFCC in Lekki, Lagos.

The suspects were paraded at the Lagos office of the anti-graft agency.

Their arrest followed intelligence report received by the Commission about their activities, alleging that they were living flamboyantly within the community without any known sources of income.

Upon thorough search of their apartment, luxurious items including expensive cars, lots of cash, laptops, phones as well a fetish charms were recovered from the suspects.

Speaking on the renewed clampdown on Internet fraudsters, the Lagos Zonal Head of the Commission, Akanninyene Ezima, said:

“It is to checkmate the activities of these undisciplined elements who want to reap where they did not sow. “By this action, we are also sending a red alert to the so-called yahoo-yahoo boys that engaging in fraudulent deeds, does not pay.”

The suspects are: Ale Daniel, Tunde Badmus, Adams Tunde Adedeji and Ajiboye Gbenga.
The quartet were arrested in the Lekki area of Lagos State for various offenses bordering on cybercrimes and money laundering, including possession of unauthorized documents.
