Mother Of Four Killed By Her Husband In Enugu

The Police in Enugu State have commenced a full-scale investigation into an incident in which a man allegedly hacked his wife to death in Enugu city.

According to Punch News, The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said in a statement on Friday in Enugu that the incident occurred on March 8.

Amaraizu, who did not disclose the location of the incident, said the deceased, Mrs Nkechi Nnamani, was a mother of four children.

“It was gathered that Nkechi was hale and hearty before her husband, Sunday Nnamani, allegedly hit her with an object on the head, which left her in a coma.

“Nkechi was consequently rushed to Parklane Specialist Hospital, where she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty,’’ he said.

The PPRO said that police operative have been trying to unravel the circumstances surrounding the  unfortunate incident; just as the dead body of Nkechi had been deposited at a nearby mortuary.

This is not the first report of a man accidentally killing his wife, we also reported the tragedy that struck in Mbiabam Ibiono Community, in Akwa IbomState when a vulcanizer identified as Nkere-Uta, allegedly slaughtered his wife Bella with a machete.

 The incident occurred at about 8 am in a community which is about 15 minutes drive to Uyo, the state capital. However, it could not be immediately ascertained why the man allegedly murdered his wife who was in her early 30’s with five children.

According to reports, the poor woman who lost her life to domestic violence was a hard-working petty trader and well loved by all that knew her.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State, Odiko McDon, confirmed that the suspect has been arrested.
