Frustrated Users Of Galaxy S8s Report Phone Is restarting Itself

In the days since Samsung released its highly-anticipated Galaxy S8 model, the devices have been plagued with problems, ranging from red-tinged displays to issues with the Bixby home button.

Now, hundreds of users are reporting that their phones are repeatedly restarting by themselves.

Samsung is yet to comment on the issue, or release an update to prevent it from happening.

The problem was first picked up by an anonymous user called ‘Lazazy’ who posted her complaint on the Samsung community website.

Her post read:

‘So I picked up my Galaxy S8 and everything seems to be working well except the phone keeps restarting itself.

‘I have had it for about 10 hours now and it has already restarted seven times while I was using it. ‘It happens when I’m using an app like the camera or Samsung Themes and it doesn’t matter if the phone is charging or not. ‘All of a sudden the app freezes, the screen shuts off, and a few seconds later it restarts.’

Online images of their phones went viral on social media but Samsung denied a hardware flaw and maintained that users could manually adjust the colour range according to their preferences.

As more users voiced doubts, Samsung said that a software update would fix the problem by allowing them to readjust colours over a wider range than normal.

‘Samsung…has decided to release a software update starting from this week which will provide consumers with a further enhanced ability to adjust the colour setting to their preference,’ the company said in a statement.

The fault is believed to be the result of the design of the Super AMOLED screens.

It is a very small flaw. I had the same experience with my S8 plus after I inserted a micro SD card..It however stopped restarting arbitrarily as soon as I took it out..Its definitely an issue that can be fixed with an update sometime soon…Generally, the phone runs smooth like a well tuned engine. Th best Samsung phone ever..

Samsung should learn to always calm down and test run their devices very well before releasing it to the market rather than rudhingbthem out for competition.
