A pregnant woman who was crushed with her baby by a vehicle at Suru Alaba, in Ajeromi – Ifelodun local government area of Lagos State, on Friday, reportedly visited her friend hours later, Leadership reports.

The three-month old pregnant woman identified as Elo, who hails from Delta State, was at Suru Alaba bus stop, along Badagry-Lagos expressway when a Lexus Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) crushed her and her baby she was carrying. An eyewitness, Dupe Fagbemi, said that the vehicle was reversing against traffic when it crushed the pregnant woman and her one year and four months old son.

Fagbemi said a truck conveying a 40-feet container also rammed into the car from behind, damaging it. The driver of the long vehicle attempted to escape but was given a hot a chase by commercial motorcyclists that ply the expressway.

Fagbemi said the car smashed the head of the woman and the intestine of the baby gushed out.

A family friend of the victims, Odafe, disclosed that two hours after the accident, Elo and her son appeared where her (Elo’s) friend was selling ‘amala’ along Ojo Road, Ajegunle, and after eating the food, left the scene.

He said 10 minutes later, someone came to the ‘amala’ joint to announce the news of the tragedy which the amala seller did not believe until she went to the scene. Elo was said to be a fashion designer at Ojo Road but lived with her husband at Surulere. She was returning home when the accident occurred. Her elder sister was said to have delivered a baby girl yesterday but people concealed the bad news from her. Meanwhile, policemen attached to the Layeni police station were said to be handling the matter.

I have heard stories like this and it just gives me the chills. Do leave your comments.

Something similar happened to me as a teenager.A friend and next door neighbour of mine died overnight but I didn’t know because I went to school the next day and the news only spread while I was at school.

On my way home from school, I boarded a bus and I was sitter Close to the window, I saw her on the other side of the road seemingly waiting for a bus so I screamed ‘Nkoli, bad girl, is that the way to your house?’. She didn’t respond but she waved to indicate that she had seen me.

I got home and after relating the story to my sister she told me that Nkoli had died the day before. Very creepy.
