Cocktails 2 Live 4 is a project that aims to educate, enlighten and promote the ever-growing cocktail culture in Nigeria; affirm, celebrate and recognize Nigerian bartenders and mixologists whose touch of professionalism have added credible value to the Cocktails Industry.
It will be a veritable platform for old, new and upcoming mixologists and bartenders to aspire, network, share their ideas, build their craft and expertise and stir up their passion, in a fun-filled environ, entertaining or lovers of cocktails, drinks Connoisseur.
Cocktails 2 Live 4 is a monthly event held at Grills In and Out, Lagos Branch and hosted by a super talented, professional and passionate Mixologist or bartender of repute, who will prepare and wow invited guests, customers and friends of the House, with amazing cocktails/mocktails mixes made from premium liquors, spirits and ingredients it could be classic/contemporary/signature.
Nine Nigerian Mixologists/Bartenders have been selected to host the series of events in the Premier Season of Cocktails 2 Live 4. The first edition has been scheduled for Monday, March 28, 2016 at Grills In and Out Restaurant, 7A, Admiralty Road, Before Forte Oil, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. The Host Mixologist for this maiden edition will be Aderonke Sobodu.
Aderonke Sobodu
Aderonke Sobodu is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Spronks Creations Limited, an event management and wine consultancy company. She also owns and runs Spronks Boisson Palais, a beverage catering company in Lagos. She recently opened her own wine bar LiquidHub, based in Ikoyi Lagos. In the course of her professional career, she worked as brand and marketing manager for Nederburg, from the Distell portfolio and one of the most awarded wine brand from South Africa. Aderonke’s love for wine grew while she was building the South Africa brand in Nigeria and decided to make a business career out of it. In 2010, Aderonke started the Nigeria Wine and Spirit festival, as platform to educate the Nigeria consumers and also a trade platform for Wine producers and distributors to meet for business purposes. She currently serves as Ambassador and consultant to Lanson Champagne, Pacific One drop (Australia), Wines of South Africa, Grupo Penaflor (Argentina) and Champagne Besserat de Bellefon. Aderonke is a founding member of the Lagos Wine Club, she recently started the Elite Wine Club and Liquid Hub, a one stop bar for premium Wines and Cocktails. Aderonke writes cocktail recipes for brands, bars, hotels and restaurant. over the years she her built her expertise in her career, obtaining a Diploma in Advance Mixology and Diploma in International Bartending Level II from Bols Academy Amsterdam. She also has Level II and III Awards in wine and spirit from Wine and Spirit Education trust, London and is a member of the United State Sommelier Association School, Miami USA. Her other laudable certifications include Diploma International Bar management, Bols Academy Amsterdam; International Bartender Certification, Elite Bartending Academy, Miami, USA.
Olufunke Awobokun
Olufunke Awobokun is the Chief Mixologist of Cocktails In and Out Limited (CIO), a company that has steadily carved a niche for itself in the industry and grown to become a pace and trend setter in mobile cocktail bar services pioneered in 2005 with branches in Lagos & Abuja. Olufunke Awobokun is a mixologist and restaurateur. She is the founder, initiator and pioneer of the project “Cocktails 2 Live 4” and is also the brain behind the Tasters club which is a networking event aimed at promoting and enlightening the Nigerian consumers about the fine art of mixology and generally promoting the cocktail culture. In 2008, she became a certified a mixologist and bartender from the Shaker Bar School.
Lara Rawa
Lara Rawa is the Chief Executive Officer of Eventi Cocktails, a Lagos based cocktails design and consulting company. She is a member of the United Kingdom Bartenders Guild, a certified Mixologist and is currently the drink stylist for Baileys Nigeria Diageo Brand. As far as Nigeria is concerned, Lara Rawa is a name to reckon with in cocktails as she is the Organizer of Lagos Cocktail Week.
Kenechukwu Odera Nkwontah
Kenechukwu Odera Nkwontah is the Chief Exectuive Officer of Shakers and Ice, a cocktails and beverage company, which he established in 2007. His “spirited” career as a Mixologist and bartender is fuelled by an active desire to be an authority in bartending and advocate for cocktails and mixology in Nigeria. Currently he is opening a distillery in Lagos, which will anchor operations on the production of spirits.
Titi Oshodi
Titi Oshodi is the Managing Partner of T-Eye Dot. She is an experiential marketer with over a decade experience in marketing, sales and business development. Delving into this feat was borne out of her increased curiosity and interest for cocktails and beverages and zeal to share in the intrinsic value creating unique brand of drink mixes. She holds a certificate in Bartending/Mixology from Liquid Lab New York and Liquid Library Bartending Academy, Lagos.
Olubunmi Mise
Olubunmi Mise is the Chief executive Officer of Mises Cocktails. She is a certified Bartender and Mixologist. Her strides in the industry have been nothing but fabulous, as her company has produced bespoke ready to drink cocktails for an impressive pool of clientele in Nigeria. She has a certificate in Bartending and Mixology from Spronks Boisson Palais Lagos and Molecular Mixology School, London. She recently obtained a WSET Level II Award in Wine and Spirits from the East London Wine School in 2015.
Chizoba Michelle Okpala
Chizoba Michelle Okpala is the Managing Director and Head Mixologist of Elles Icebox, Nigeria’s foremost event support service company with cocktails and drinks as its specialty. Inspired to introduce professionalism in the cocktails industry, she established her company in 2008 after undergoing several trainings to perfect the art of mixology. Since inception of business, she has successfully hosted many events and author The Elles Icebox Cocktail Guide, a book which serves as a guide for making cocktails.
Enitan Allison
Enitan Allison is the Founder/ Head Intoxicologist at Ignite1979, a drinks service provider that offers an outstanding selection of cocktails, beverages and services for the hospitality and event industry, which was established in 2012. She is a certified Bartender with deep business acumen, who is passionate about her chosen career path and is consistently striving to build her capacity as an outstanding Mixologist and certified Bartender by attending several programs including the Spronks Boisson Palais, Lagos, Nigeria and Shaker Bartending School, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Folakemi Fakoya
Folakemi Fakoya is the Head Bartender and Chief Executive Officer of Icey Drinks and Cocktails. Her background and wealth of bartending experience has been most impressive as she has created one of a kind recipes and bespoke experiences for clients and has also played a consultancy role to many other upcoming bartenders in the industry. She is a self-taught Bartender.
Dania Tunji
Dania Tunji is the Managing Director of Smigz Mobile Bar, a Beverage Distribution and Mobile Bar Service Company that has been in operation since 2010. The company specializes in the catering of alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks for all types of events. His elegant touch of professionalism and customized service has equally endeared him to his clientele. His success is based on his inner passion for cocktails and ignited by an ardent zeal to continuously improve his capacity.
Cocktails2Live4 is not just an event; it’s a movement to spotlight and support creative in the beverage industry and also enlighten and bring professionalism to the industry as well as promote the cocktail culture in Nigeria.
