The Mir mine in Russia’s eastern Siberia, according to experts is the most expensive hole in the world.
The is a diamond mine which is 1,722 feet deep, and has a diameter of nearly a mile. It has been valued by some at 15 billion US dollars, adding the value of the diamonds it has already produced to the remaining reserves.
