Breaking! Governor Ambode Abolishes Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise

The lagos state government says it has cancelled the order restriction of movement of persons and vehicles during environmental sanitation days in the state.

This is was made known by the state Commissioner for the environment,Babatunde Adejare, during the ministry’s monthly media chat in Lagos.

 He disclosed that the state governor Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has decided that the state cannot afford to shut down a mega city like Lagos for a period 3 hours.

 Mr. Adejare noted that environmental sanitation should rather be a daily exercise and charged residents to make it a way of life.

 The commissioner also vowed to shut down markets violating the state’s environmental laws in 7 days.

    That sanitation should be a daily routine? Yes. If this a good development? Probably yes. But would people/Lagosians- especially the marketers- ensure a constant sanitation without being forced to do so? I sabi my people o. Our mentality is to look for money first before ensuring cleanliness. Yeah… I know it sucks.
